Rare patridge of yore,

Native of the rocky Himalayas.

Recent new neighbor

Of the Ruby Mountains of Nevada.

Behold the white throat

And chestnut streaked plumes.

Snow white wings that

Shroud you on snowy white ridges.

You feed on grass, shoots and seeds,

And fly down from the slopes for water.

Your boys whistle shi-er, shi-er, shi-er,

For the time is ripe to entice your pretty girls.
