Poemtura on the Mute Swan (Cygnus Olor)

MuteSwan.png

If there was a misnomer

You are its embodiment;

Mute Swan

You are hardly quiet.

.

You trumpet, you snore

You grunt, you growl;

After hisses and whistles

You fly away with loud rhythmic sounds.

.

You are fearsome

A big bully

For you chase away

Little ducks and geese.

.

Yet you are an elegant

Pearly bird;

Grand and graceful

Much loved and admired.
