Narure’s Reclamation is a collection of imaginary paintings depicting recognizable sites of the world which wild animals of the region attempt to reclaim as their original habitats. The recent Corona Virus situation has obviously caused hardship and distress all over the world. However, it has also given us a sudden insight into how lockdowns and quarantines have given a welcome respite to nature, although brief, from the manmade pollution and havoc caused by urban living and how that has allowed wild animals to venture back into urban spaces. These paintings were inspired by my own chance sighting of a red fox very close to the house as it had come down from the hill behind our house and was cautiously surveying the area during the recent quarantine period. These paintings are a celebration of nature´s rejuvenating powers.
