Oh, come!
Take me for a walk.
I can’t wait,
It’s six O’clock.
.
Oh, look!
My buddies
Are down there in the fields.
They are running around,
I’m here, just lying about.
.
Oh, dump!
What a waste
Of the evening.
It will get dark and gloomy,
Stop reading and get going.
.
Oh, forsook! Get up
From the couch.
Stop lolling about,
Go fetch me my rope.
.
Oh, quick!
It’s time to
Run down the hill to
Sniff the doggy scents,
Whiff of life’s essence.
.
Oh, shucks!
You are too slow
The pretty señorita there
Pets me over my snout,
And strokes me under my chin.
.
Oh, sure! I know you like
To gawk at her.
And feign innocence,
While Mommy scowls at your impertinence.
.
Oh, run! Let’s be fast
The cool breeze is a blowin’
The autumn colors are a glowin’
And I’m about to be peein’.
.
Oh, wait! Shall we take
This route, or that perhaps?
While I fancy much
The swinging bridge.
.
Oh, think! Life’s
Like a pendulous bridge.
Swinging ever from glee to glum
Before it forever ends.
.
Oh, hurry! Take me for a walk!
.
